As I look back on our past together, I often wonder how you were ever so patient with me. Until this moment, I have never realized just how lucky I am to have you in my life. If I had been you, I would have walked away from me years ago. Yet your love is so unconditional and pure, like the beautiful person you are. You always accepted me for who I am, willing to sacrifice everything for me. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve someone like you.
It brings tears to my eyes to realize how many times I might have lost you; how much I took your love for granted; how many times I was foolish enough to think that there could ever be another you in my life. Please forgive me of all my foolishness.
I have finally opened my eyes and realized that I love you more than words can say. I don’t know how many lifetimes it will take to make up for all the lost time, to repay the kindness and endless love you’ve shown me, but I want you to know that I am going to try.
