Withdrawing your Job Application

Dear …

RE: Withdrawal of Application for __(Name of Position)__

Thank you for taking the time to interview me and consider me as a candidate for the position of __(type of position)__ with __(name of company)__. Regrettably, I must withdraw my job application for this position.

I was disappointed to hear that that any offer made to me would be conditional upon __(briefly describe the condition – example: relocation to …)__. To be honest with you, this left me in an awkward position. And so after due consideration, I’ve decided to no longer pursue the position.

Please know that it is not common practice for me to withdraw job applications, however, due to the unexpected conditions surrounding this position, I believe it is in my best interest to follow this new course of action. In keeping with my decision, I now ask that you kindly return __(briefly describe the item you had given to them that you wish to be returned)__. Please __(mail it to –address--/leave it with the front desk for me to pick up/etc.)__.

Thank you again for your time, __(Name)__. I wish you all the best of luck and hope you are able to find the right candidate to fill the position.

Sincerely,
