To all staff;
It is with regret that I must inform you of the approaching layoffs that __(name of organization)__ has been forced to implement. Due to __(briefly explain reason - i.e. our latest acquisition, loss of a major contract, economic slow down)__, our company has been undergoing a restructuring process to streamline our operations. Over the past few __(months/weeks/days)__ we have been analyzing our business processes and have identified areas of overlaps and redundancies.
We will be eliminating these areas of redundancies by restructuring the __(name of division(s)/department(s)/entire company operations)__. Effective immediately, we are enforcing a hiring freeze and will be looking at layoffs of up to __(%)__ over the next __(#)__ __(weeks/months)__.
At this time, we do not know for certain how many and which employees will be affected by the layoffs. We do, however, want employees to be aware of this situation and to plan accordingly. Supervisors will be kept informed and will communicate the status of the restructuring process to employees on a regular basis. Employees having concerns about their employment status should see their supervisors for the latest reports.
I know that this notice will come as a disappointment to the employees of __(name of company)__ and for that, I extend my sincerest regrets.
Yours truly,
