Must Follow Company Procedure for Time Off

To all staff:

RE: Attendance Issues

It has come to my attention of late that poor attendance has become quite an issue in our office. I have been made aware that staff members have become very lackadaisical with taking time off these days. Two particular issues have come to light:

  1. Vacations are being taken with very short notice to management.
  2. Without any word, employees are not showing show up for work on Fridays and then coming in on Mondays with an excuse for their Friday absence.

Let me assure you that this behavior will cease right here and now. It matters not what position you hold in this firm or how well accomplished you are. There are no excuses for this type of behavior and it will no longer be tolerated.

Effective immediately, all members of staff will adhere to company policies and procedures on these issues as outlined below:

  1. Vacation Time Requests - __(briefly outline your company policy on this)__
  2. Unaccounted for Absenteeism - __(briefly outline company policy on this – to include only acceptable excuses: hospitalization for severe physical trauma/ in a coma/etc. – may also include consequences of future breach of this)__

Thank you for your attention and cooperation in this matter.

Yours truly,
