Dear…
I have been very troubled about something of late and I need to bring it to your attention before it begins to really fester in me. This is in relation to the recent salary review of the __(type of department)__ and the subsequent allotment of raises. To my surprise, I have been made aware that the raise I was given is less than what my colleagues received. These are colleagues who share the same position as me but whose qualifications are actually less than what I bring to the job.
For obvious reasons, this is very disturbing to me and I am hoping that it can be explained as an oversight. Otherwise, I’m afraid this will prove to be quite demoralizing to me, for I cannot think of a reason why I would be considered less valuable than my colleagues, particularly when my qualifications surpass theirs. This is very confusing to me.
During my employment with __(Name of Organization)__, I have welcomed all challenges that have been presented to me. My colleagues can attest to my ability to contribute well within a team environment and I believe that my dedication to this organization has been apparent through my accomplishments and work ethics. So, with this in mind and in all fairness to me, I am asking you to revisit my salary review and consider adjusting my raise to coincide with my qualifications and proven accomplishments.
Thank you for your consideration of this matter and your timely response. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Respectfully yours,
